about

Hey there.  I'm Julia Anne.

I'm a routine reader, occasional writer, frequent coffee partaker, piano player, social media addict, amateur photographer, "ocean-minded," glasses-loving blogger.

I'm currently sixteen years young, enjoying life, and living in Honolulu, Hawaii.  I'm the voice behind what's written here.  Welcome to Peach Print, a young adult book review blog written by an actual young adult!

First of all, I'd like to say thank you for stopping by the blog.  If you're reading this page, you either actually have interest in the blog/me, or you clicked by accident.  I'll go with the former.

Here's what you need to know about me before we can become official book friends:

Favorite book?
Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta.

Favorite series?
Well, take a wild guess.  I'm sure you'll hit it spot on.
Yup . . . Harry Potter.

Favorite author?
Quite honestly, there are too many to count.  But at the moment, I particularly adore Jandy Nelson and Melina Marchetta.

Favorite genre?
I share an equal love for YA contemporary and fantasy!

Favorite fictional character?
I don't know.  Dobby?  Sirius Black?  This is too tough.  No answer.

Okay, now we can become best bookish friends.

You can find me over at A Perfection Called Books, on Twitter @peachprint, Instagram @yapeach, and of course, right here on my blog.

Ever since my (awkward) days in middle school, I've always kept multiple blogs in some form or another, but I could never just sit down and maintain one.  I've created photography blogs, lifestyle blogs, fashion blogs, personal blogs, and yes, a handful of book blogs as this one.

However, the story of this particular blog, Peach Print, begins with an assignment for my sophomore English class.  Every sophomore who attends the school I do is given the task of creating what is called a "Quality Project" to work on for the fourth quarter.  This project is one that should demonstrate quality and draw on the Universal Standards of Quality (Standards of Critical Thinking).  The Quality Project should also be something the student is interested in, cares about, and wants to work on, as there is a requirement of work hours: twenty five to fifty.  And of course, the core of the project should be focused on reading and writing, as this is for an English class.

And so, after mulling over the possibilities and options, I was left with what (in my particular case) everything seems to come down to: creating a blog.

Now you see, in my eyes, this really was the best option for me.  I love to read.  I love books and bookstores and black ink on paper.  I love poetry and prose and creating my own.  I love literature.  I already voluntarily spend hours of my day reading books, so choosing a book review blog as my Quality Project provides me with an excuse to read and write even more!

Peach Print focuses on book reviews of young adult literature, as such is my usual fare.

As always, thanks for reading.
